Designed as a replacement for the B5N 'Kate' torpedo bomber, the B6N was better in every way. More range, greater power, and higher speed made it a most formidable weapon. Unfortunately for the Japanese Navy, it was not available until rather late in the war, by which time many of the the IJN's best aircraft carriers and most experienced crews were long gone.

This book is #3 in a series by Kagero on famous aircraft, the preceding two being on the Fokker D.VII and Nieuport 27. These books are bit smaller than the Kagero unit histories or the popular Osprey series. Within the 36 pages you'll find a dual English/Polish history along with several good photos of the B6N (Japanese WWII images are very difficult to find as most were destroyed at the end of the war.) This is coupled with some excellent color profiles which really add to the book. As is becoming more and more the norm with Kagero, there is a Techmod decal sheet included with the book that has unique markings for a number of aircraft in both 1/72 and 1/48. There is also a set of canopy masks (not shown) and they appear to be in 1/48.

For those modelers wishing to locate kits for this book, you have very nice ones by Fujimi in 1/72 and by Hasegawa in 1/48.

Overall, a really fine book and one that offers both research material and decals in one. Not a bad deal at all. If you find the subject interesting, you really should consider buying this one.
