Twobobs has been about the only place one can go to find modern aggressor aircraft schemes. They have also moved this theme into 1/32 scale and I'll be glad to see them in 1/72 as well (so feel free to send in some review samples, guys...hint, hint)

There are two aircraft on this sheet, both from VFC-12, with one A and one B just to make things different. They are in the 'Fulcrum' scheme in that they try to emulate the look of the Mig-29, an aircraft that is visually similar. This is accomplished by the fake 'inlets' on the upper wing surface and other clues to the Fulcrum shape on the fuselage side and fit tips.

Both schemes are basically the same though the colors used are much different. One is a desert scheme of browns and the other in an air superiority scheme of blues.

Typical of Twobobs sheets are a number of small photographs of the real aircraft and while they are nice, they are, in my opinion, a bit too small to be of any real use as a reference. Perhaps it is my aging eyes!

Anyway the instructions are super and give all the information needed on decal placement and coloring. There is a rather old kit from Hasegawa that more properly represents a prototype than a production F-18. I've also been informed that Revell does a more modern F-18 in this scale as well. Rumor has it that Academy will be issuing a proper production plane in this scale and large scale modelers will be quite happy to have this come about.

Not shown is a smaller sheet with insignia and crew names.
