Most do not realize that there were actually aces on the other side of the Korean War. True, they were all Russians, but at the time, it was not widely acknowledged at home that the Soviets were flying for the North Koreans from Chinese bases!
Thanks to the more open nature of Russian society since the end of the Cold War, more information has come forward regarding these pilots and their planes. Some are on this sheet. You'll notice that all but one are marked as North Korean.
First is a very nicely camouflaged aircraft of I.P. Galyshevsky the commander of 351 IAP in 1952.
Next an overall metal 10 victory Mig of Capt Pavel Milauszkin, also during 1952.
The sole Soviet marked Mig is this camouflaged version of 5 kill ace Major N. Shkodin in July 1953.
Finally, Capt A.M. Karelin's Mig 15 showing 4 of his five kills.
Your choice of kits is really only one; the Tamiya version. Yes, Monogram also does a Mig-15, but the Tamiya one is more accurate and easier to find!
Please note that the sheet may look a bit short as I'll often crop off common markings to save on server space.
