In the long-running series of Bf-109 sheets, here is one on the F and early G models. All of them are in the standard scheme of RLM 74/75/76, though there are some variations on side markings as well as theatre markings to add interest.
First off is an F-2 from stab./JG 53 on the Russian front in mid 1942. It has some heavy splotches on the fuselage side, perhaps to remove another marking and a yellow undercowl. It was flown by ace Franz Scheib and has a portion of his eventual 67 kills on the rudder.
This JG 53 G-4/trop was flown by the staffel kapitan Jurgen Harder. It carries Mediterranean theater markings of white wing tips and fuselage band.
The G-2 that is next is flow by Gunther Rall with 8./JG 52 in late 1942. It has much of the uppersurface colors pulled onto the fin and down the fuselage. It also carries the yellow nose, wing tip and fuselage band fro the Russian front.
Finally, this very nicely painted F-2 from 5./JG 54. It has a full yellow nose, wing tips, rudder and wide fuselage band. It also has a very interesting fuselage treatment, probably in RLM 70/02.
Please note that the sheet may look a bit short as I'll often crop off common markings to save on server space.
