It seems that decals companies are finding a way to add a bit to their bottom line. They are doing this by basically revisiting older subjects. These are not total reissues, but the subjects have all be covered on other sheets. This does two things. It gives those who missed a previous sheet the opportunity to model a certain subject. It also is an inexpensive way to increase profits. I could also add that it irritates those of us who have some of the older sheets but want only one of the markings on the new sheet! Well, whatever it takes to keep the company solvent is fine by me.

All the hellcats on this sheet are F6F-5s and all are in glossy sea blue. The suggested kits are from Hasegawa and Otaki/Arii, though I'm sure these would fit the old Monogram kit just as well.

First subject is from VF-7 with a white drop tank and an intermediate blue replacement rudder. The tail codes are provided in a dirty grey should you wish to use them vice the white ones.

Next, from VF-53 is the -5. Your intrepid editor used these markings from a previous set for his -5 Hellcat (see image below).

From the USS Essex is David McCampbell's 'Minsi III', complete with the huge scoreboard.

Finally is Eugene Valencia's VF-9 Hellcat from early 1945.

The sheet provides enough insignia for three of the four subjects and it also has sufficient data decals (including an instrument panel) for one.
