Once more, a pair of very colorful Fokker D.VII's. This sheet is not designed for the Monogram/Revell kit so unless you have a Dragon/DML one stashed away, I'd say pass on this one. Of course, you could try to make it fit anyway....

First is an overall lozenge covered aircraft with a white nose and fin/rudder, and black tail/horizontal stabilizer from Jasta 58. It is an OAW built plane and those who are into the D.VII will know what that means.

The really colorful one is overall yellow with black checks and the yellow extends to the upper wing as well. It is from MFJ 1 (which I guess is a Naval unit) and has the upper side panels of the engine removed (shown in grey). The fin/rudder is white as it quite common on the D.VII. The instructions give a precise sequence to applying the decals on this one.

The four color lozenge decals will have to come from another source.

Once again, Marlon Schultz provides the following information on these aircraft:

   Ostdeutsche Albatros Werke (O.A.W.) was the factory which was sub-contracted to build the Fokker D.VII.  This company was an affilate of Albatros, and was literally their factory in eastern Germany.  Albatros also built Fokker D.VII's under contract.
 
This aircraft was a mid production model with the serial number probally in the range of 4450/18  - 4649/18
   
   With it's Jasta 58 markings- white nose with black rear fuselage and tail ,this aircraft also bore the Kassel city coat of arms
 
   Use four colour lozenge with blue rib tape. 
 
Fokker D.VIIF 
 
     This aircraft was Fokker built and equiped with the superb 185 BMW IIIa engine. This aircraft was an early production  model and so carried the early production engine exhaust which exited through the right engine side panel.
 
    The pilot was Leutnant zur see Gotthard Sachsenberg.  He commanded MFJ 1 from Feb. 1917 until he was appointed commander of the Königlich Preussische Marine Jagdgeschwader on 2 Sept. 1918. This roughly translates to Royal Prussian Navy Hunting Wing.     
 
MFJ1 aircraft carried a single black elevator stripe. Yellow was a very predominate colour with the Navy units.
 
Cover the lower wing and bottom of the top with four colour lozenge with rib tapes cut from the four colour lozenge.
 
 Sachenberg scored 31 victories and was a Knight of the Pour le Merite  ( the Blue Max) .
 
 His younger cousin was Ltn. Heinz Sachenberg, a 104 victory ace of World War II .
