Continuing with AIMS' excellent Ju-88 decals sheets is this one that covers G-6 night fighters. For kits, you have the AIMS 1/72 Ju-88G-6 and the recently released Hasegawa G-6 kits as the most accurate representations of this aircraft. There is also the AMT G-6 kit that can be done as a G-1 with the inclusion of AIMS BMW engines or update set, and perhaps (though I'm not positive) Italeri has done a G-6 as well.
All of the aircraft are painted in a base color of RLM 76 with various amounts of upper surface mottling, mostly in RLM 75. Where this isn't the case, it will be noted.
Option 1 is from NJG 5 as flown by Maj. Rudolf Schoenert who had 64 victories. This aircraft has extra fuelave mounted dipole antennas.
Second is from NJG 4 with the Morgenstern antenna cover. Upper fuselage and wing mottling is in RLM 82.
Next is from 1./NJG 2 and is equipped with the smaller FuG 218 'Neptun' radar.
With the same radar as above, the fourth plane was assigned to NJG Norwegen. It also has RLM 82 scribbles applied over a standard finish.
Fifth option has the FuG 240 'Berlin' centimetric radar and FuG 217 dipoles on the wings. This aircraft has RLM 82 on the replacement rudder and was assigned to 2./ NJG 4.
Finally another 2./NJG 2 plane with similar equipment to the one above. Unlike the other aircraft, the Schrage Musik installation is confirmed in reference photos.
AIMS also has the Morgenstern and Berlin noses available through their web site. Perhaps they will send these in for review at a later date.
