For those seeking aftermarket decals for the Revell 1/32 Typhoon, Aviaeology has part one of a pair of sets that focus on 143 Wing (RCAF) in operations during 1944 up until the end of that year. Due to the size of the markings for this aircraft, this set covers four aircraft. Sharp eyes will notice there are nine markings options shown on the cover, but the other five are in the first set.

The first set of markings is for JR 249/F3*P with 438 Squadron. This aircraft is one of their early planes and still has the 'car door' cockpit. No invasion stripes with this one, but it was named 'Lita'.

Next is MN 345/5V G with 439 Squadron. This plane has invasion stripes on the lower fuselage along with an odd asymmetric design on the spinner. This is also a named plane, 'Peace River'.

MN518/R*D is a wing commander's plane. This has the three blade prop and was kept in very clean condition. It was probably waxed as photos show a sheen.

MP 149/I8*P was with 440 Squadron. You can also build this one as MN 311 using the same codes. Both planes were named 'Pulverizer' with the first one having small nose are.

The final option is RB 205/FGG, another wing commander's plane. This one has lower fuselage invasion stripes.

The instructions cover all the available options but mark through those not applicable to the decals provided. There are bonus markings provided for several of the units. You are provided with four decal sheets. Two small one and two larger. There are enough insignia for one plane. This set does not include stencils, however, Aviaeology offers a package that, for a few dollars more includes them.

There is a ton of historical information provided in the instructions and that includes details on each specific markings option as often, no two planes were exactly the same. When you buy a set of decals, you are provided with an e-mail that leads to the instructions in full color as well as any color images of the aircraft on the sheet. For those wanting to do more than one plane (though you'd have to have a pretty big display shelf for more than one of these), you can get an insignia sheet and a stencil sheet separately.
