This is the first sheet I've seen from Aviaeology and it is for a pair of Typhoons from 245 Squadron during 1945. The main aircraft is a rather striking shark mouth painted aircraft as flown by 'Moose' Mostrip and Tony Zweigbergk (depending on who was on the flight schedule, I gather). There has been much discussion as to the actual colors of this as no color photos were ever taken of the plane. In the instructions, there is considerable effort put forth to come to a rational explanation as to the shade of the area inside the teeth. The sheet makers have decided it was red, which makes sense to me, however, if you don't agree, you can leave out the red bits as they are separate.
The other aircraft on the sheet is a more standard aircraft as flown by Geoff Murphy named 'Zephyr Breezes' with a rather nice nude drawn on the fuselage side. I should mention that the blue and white checked bands for both planes were post war additions.
There is a four page instruction booklet that includes a number of photos of both aircraft as well as a detailed markings placement guide. The recommended kit is by Hasegawa and Ultracast detail bits are also recommended. The decals themselves are superbly printed; clear and crisply done with no registration problems.
Overall, it is an excellent new sheet and provides one with something a bit off the beaten track when it comes to Typhoon markings.
