Skipping sheets 3 and 4 for the moment (probably delayed in printing), we have sheet #5 and this time it is for the P-40 Warhawk. All of the options are for the desert air forces and so are Dark Green and Dark Earth for the upper colors. All seem to have the same basic pattern. It is when we get to the underside that things are a bit different. For the first two options, the underside is Dupont Light Grey. The third has a very dark blue that may well be Mediterranean Blue. These planes were delivered with US colors and the Dark Green was overpainted in the field with the Middlestone so the spray pattern won't be as tight as from the factory. All have red spinners. and you'll notice that the fuselage roundel is partially overpainted as well.

First up is Tomahawk Mk.IIb, AK402 GA-F (US designation P-40C). Flown by Pilot Officer Neville Duke who ended the war with 27 confirmed victories. Based at Fort Maddelena, Libya. November, 1941.

Next is a Kittyhawk Mk.I, AK578 GA-V (US Designation P-40E). Flown by Flying Officer Neville Duke at a later time in his career. Based at Gambut, Libya. February, 1942.  Note that on these planes, the serial still has the Dark Green background as it was just masked off prior to overpainting. This one has yellow wing leading edge markings.

Finally, another Kittyhawk Mk.I, AK772 GA-Y “London Pride” (US Designation P-40E). Flown by P.O. Burney & Sqn Ldr. Clive Caldwell. Based at Gambut, Libya. Spring, 1942. Some think that perhaps the underside is Deep Sky so it is really your choice. I think PRU Blue would probably look good for a ready-mixed paint, though it is a bit lighter.

Common markings enough for one aircraft and the decals are superbly printed by Cartograf, so you know you are getting good color saturation and crisp markings. For kits, most will choose Trumpeter for the Tomahawk IIb and Hasegawa for the P-40E, though there is no reason why the old Revell kit wouldn't work for the P-40E as well.
