Caracal Models has come out with a nice sheet for the recent Kitty Hawk 1/32 T-6 Texan. This one has two sets of markings for overall yellow Air Training Command planes from the middle 1950.

Both planes have black nose anti-glare panels and the 'football' ADF antenna behind the standard VHF radio mast. Note also that both planes have a prop spinner and have the later side windows with fewer panes that were standard stuff for the T-6G. I also assume these had main gear doors. The blanck anti-glare panel as well as the wing walk areas will need to be painted.

The first option is from Hondo AFB in Texas during 1954. This plane was part of a civilian operation under the guise of the USAF until 1958 when the USAF closed the installation and turned over the facilities to civilians. This still was used for initial flight screening for prospective pilots using T-41 and later T-3 aircraft as part of ATC and later AETC until 2000 when all the former USAF facilities were torn down. The other is from Columbus AFB in Mississippi in 1955. This base is currently quite active, the home of six squadrons flying the T-6 Texan II and the T-38. Both have the large ATC badge on the nose with the name of the base above it. A full set of stencils and insignia are provided for one aircraft. The decals are superbly printed by Microscale so should provide no issues and work with all setting solutions.
