This new Caracal Models decal sheet is for the Trumpeter 1/35 HH-65 Dolphin. I don't know much about this kit, though I do know that they did one in 1/48 which was rife with errors. This sheet contains markings for eight aircraft. All but one are in the current International Orange scheme. One is in the initial scheme that was mostly white. Some of these options are MH-65s and the aircraft are split between C and D variants. I know nothing about the differences so I'll assume those who have the kit are aware of what is what on these.

I note that USCG helos seem to have adopted a badge on the top of the fin, something I'd not seen since I left San Diego in 1993. Speaking of which, the set includes a number of additional bases and serials so you can pretty well model any MH/HH 65 for which you have a photo. I was wondering why three base names were included and one of them goes on the door on the right side of the aircraft.

The instruction booklet includes a complete decal placement guide and the various trim stripes are also included. The decals themselves are superbly printed by Microscale. In all, a most welcome sheet for the Coast Guard aviation modeler.
