Wish I'd have had these decals a few months back when building my Trumpeter 1/32 F4U-4 Corsair! This is the first of three super sheets dedicated to the late model F4U. All of these are in overall Dark Sea Blue, as befits a Corsair of the late 40s and early 1950s.  This is also an important sheet as it includes the aircraft of two special people.

First up is one of the Honduran Corsairs that took part in the 'Soccer War' with El Salvador during the late 1960s. The rudder and wing tips will have to be painted blue prior to application of the white band decals. The kit will also have to be modified to the F4U-4B version that had twin 20mm cannon instead of the three .50 calibre machine guns in each wing. It should be a relatively simple conversion.

Next are two planes from VF-32: one is the aircraft of the Navy's first black aviator, ENS. Jessie Brown. It is possible that the plane he normally flew was # 217, so that modex has also been included. The other is Medal of Honor recipient Lt(JG) Tom Hudner's aircraft. Depending on the time period, the squadron name may or may not have been there as it was removed sometime before the end of the cruise.

All in all, an excellent choice of aircraft for the Big-nosed Hog!
