I've reviewed a few Skylancer decals in the past and found them to be really excellent. What really sets them apart is that they not only do those great planes of the 50's, but their instruction sheets are superb. They list every little detail that needs to be added, removed or modified from the available kits. The color information on the interior and exterior of the plane is spot on. The additional information given regarding these planes is superb and a mini-history in itself. There are enough complete markings on the sheet to do two of the three aircraft.
This particular sheet has markings for three F-89s in the last years of USAF usage. All of the aircraft are in unpainted natural metal with black radomes and anti-glare panels.
First is an aircraft from the 54th FIS at Ellsworth AFB in South Dakota, circa 1958. Most of the color on this one comes from the tip tanks and a unit emblem with flash under the horizontal stab.
Next is a Scorpion from the 58th FIS at Walker AFB, New Mexico. Again, all the color is on the tip tanks, though this one has an unusual red intake warning mark.
Finally, from the 321st FIS at Paine AFB in Washington is this F-89J with a light sky blue area under the stab with yellow stars.
Overall, a very nice sheet that will allow you to build your F-89 in markings that are a bit different from the norm.
