The third new sheet on JG 300 aircraft combines both 109Gs and 190As with two of each on this sheet. All start with the standard camo scheme of RLM 74/75/76, but some of them add to it! There are lots of kits out there that can be used for the planes on this sheet.
First up is a most unusual Bf-109G-6. Yellow 17 has an early canopy, short antenna mast and packs a pair of 20mm cannon pods under the wings. Much of the upper surface has been overpainted in very dark grey (perhaps RLM 66) while the underside has been painted black. This has obliterated the insignia so templates are provided so that you can use them to help to reproduce this effect.
Next is the second Bf-109G-6 from Stab./JG 300. It has the taller wooden fin and Erla Haube canopy. Red band on the aft fuselage.
Green 3 is a FW-190A-6 from Stab./ JG 300 in standard camo with a yellow lower cowling. No head armor in this one.
A nearly identical aircraft is Green 1 from Stab./JG Hermann. This FW-190A-6 is the aircraft of Hajo Hermann, the man who came up with the idea of JG 300 and the Wilde Sau combat technique.
Reference images for all three of these sheets can be found in the new JG 300 Part 1 book by Eagle Editions.
