Gotta love gloss sea blue Corsairs. Easy to paint and still looks very nice when done. I'm personally happy to see more markings for these later F4Us as I think they have been somewhat overlooked. The suggested kit for this sheet is the Academy or Hasegawa F4U-4. I think that most will pick the Hasegawa kit, though only the Academy version does the -4B cannon-armed aircraft.
First option is the F4U-4B from VF-53. This one is from the USS Valley Forge in 1950 and has light blue markings on the fin tip and prop hub.
Next is an F4U-4 from tVF-653, a reserve unit operating from the USS Valley Forge in 1952/53. For color it has red on the fin tip, prop hub and forward section of the drop tanks.
The final F4U-4 is from VF-192 in 1952 aboard the USS Princeton. Color is white on the fin tip, tail tip and prop hub.
The sheet includes insignia and data markings for two. A smaller instruction sheet includes stencil placement information.
