Century Series fighters are popular with a rather large segment of the modeling community and we have been well served over the years thanks to Monogram. Despite the newest of these kits being molded in the late 1980s, they are still very nice and often seen at modeling events across the country.
This sheet has markings for two aircraft, both in overall unpainted metal but with ADC Grey (FS 16473) fin caps. As these are early F-101Bs, you may need to remove the slime lights, IRST sensor the antennas and beacons from the upper and lower fuselage. This could also include the Genie Missiles and tail hook. The instructions will tell you what is appropriate for which markings. It is nice to see these markings in 1/48 as previously the only place to get them (or at least the first one) was on an old 1/72 Microscale sheet.
First up is from the 437 FIS while the second is from the 15 FIS, both from the 28th ADW.
Insignia and common markings for one aircraft. The builder will have to paint the missile blast areas. Wing walk markings are provided as a decal.
