NOTES:

Sheet from 2000. Now out of production

One of the more popular subjects is the now nearly defunct F-4 Phantom II. This is a sheet from Fox One, who has decided to stop producing sheets, so the availability of this six year old sheet is quite questionable.

The sheet is scaled for the Tamiya 1/32 F-4C/D kit, which is purported to be in the Vietnam configuration. All the subjects on this sheet are in the South East Asia (SEA) scheme of FS 34079/34102/30219 over 36622. The set also includes two sets of insignia and common data markings, so you could do two of the subjects on the sheet if you choose wisely.

There are markings for five aircraft from three different squadrons. I'll list what is on the sheet by serial number as it is easier.

-680 is provided for both Robin Olds and for Fred Haeffner. The Olds plane has one kill mark  from January 1967 and a red nose band while the Haeffner one has no red nose band and two kill markings from his March 1967 mission.

-668 is shown with a red nose band as piloted by Robin Olds during one of his kills on June 1967

-829 was flown during Olds' third and fourth victories during May 1967. As wing CO, he could fly any plane and he eventually flew one from each squadron during his victory missions.

-839 was flown by Dick Pascoe during his January mission.

The last choice of aircraft are -839 again and -653 as flown during the famous 'Pardo Push' mission. -839 was flown by Bob Pardo and -653 by Earl Aman. Both planes were lost during this mission, but both crews survived. Interestingly, it took 22 years for the story to get out and Bob Pardo and his RIO were awarded the Silver Star for heroism.
