One of the most flamboyant schemes ever applied to an aircraft during WWII has to be the subject of this sheet: The Dragon and His Tail. Mike Grant has done us all a huge favor by producing these markings in 1/48 and 1/72 with a 1/144 version soon to come. This is the 1/48 version and is superbly packaged with a very thick cardboard backing to prevent any damage to the decal. ALPS printed decals are supremely colorful and show a very large range of colors and shades that cannot be duplicated by conventional means, and this sheet showcases those capabilities.
Designed for the Monogram B-24J, these decals do need to have some care when handling and using them. Strong setting solutions such as Solvaset are not recommended as it will damage the inks used in printing. The modeler will also have to cut out each individual decal, but the results are well worth it.
