This is a nicely done conversion set that is pretty simple to use. You basically take the Monogram 1/72 F4B-4 and use it as the basis. It is a relatively simple matter to remove the extant fuselage spine and fin to do the two variants in the set.

For the P-12E, the larger of the two fuselage spines is used and you will also need to remove the floatation bag compartments from the underside of the upper wing. In both cases, the rudder stays. As a note, early P-12Es had the smaller spine before the 'Panama Kit' was added to it. The F4B-3 only needs the new smaller spine and the replacement fin.
