An upgrade that often adds a lot of character to a kit are lowered flaps. Now some planes, like the Spitifire or MiG-21, would not be seen with the flaps down on the ground, but that is not the case with all planes and the Hellcat is one that was often seen with flaps lowered. Starfighter Decals' Medallion Models line now includes a set of very nicely cast resin flaps. These are not kit specific so will fit on any 1/48 Hellcat you might have in your stash.
