A lot of modelers like the 1955-85 color schemes on Navy and Marine aircraft. To many of us, this period of light gull grey and white camo provided some of the more interesting and colorful unit markings. Few aircraft were able to display those markings in any more of a grand fashion than the A-7 Corsair. That large fin and rudder were perfect to allow a colorful display. This sheet covers two aircraft in that particular scheme.
First up is a VA-93 A-7E from the USS Midway. This squadron has had the shark mouth on its planes since they first got the A-7A, and this scheme is what they carried in 1983.
The other is from VA-66 as seen in 1982 at NAS Fallon for weapons training. It was attached to the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower at the time. Both of these units were disestablished after they stopped operating the A-7.
The sheet provides insignia and data markings for both. There is also rear fuselage walk decals, though the ones on the inner tail planes will have to be painted. A data placement guide is included. For kits, the one that is recommended is by Italeri/ESCI. The best A-7 kits are by Fujimi so I'd use those if you can find one. You could also probably use the Airfix A-7E as it doesn't built into a bad model itself.
