Monogram and Heller's 1/48 F-84Fs have been around for quite a few years and despite the tendency nowadays to provide modern replacements for older kits, that hasn't happened in this case. Frankly, other than raised panel lines and the other baggage that comes from older technology kits (such as ejector pin marks on the inside of gear doors), these kits both hold up rather well to scrutiny. This has to be one of the earliest aftermarket sheets for those aircraft. Both of the planes on the sheet are in bare metal and probably rather well maintained. The sheet offers sufficient insignia for one and enough stencils for both. The under wing USAF will have to be cut to fit the gear doors.

First up is from the 401 FBW with the black and white checkered tail. The nose and forward fuselage stripes are blue outlined in white, making for a very nice model.

Next is the boss bird from the 12th SFW in 1956. This SAC bird has multi-colored bands on the nose, fin and wing tips. The SAC band on the fuselage seems a bit light in color to me, but finding a replacement won't be easy! This aircraft also has yellow nose gear doors.
