Since Superscale does things in pairs, here is another F-102A sheet. This time it is for the 525 FIS at Bitburg Germany in 1961. This one is also overall FS 16473 with bare metal intake and exhaust panels. As with the previous sheet, this one is quite colorful and provides all of the data markings and stencils needed for the one plane.

On a bit of a side note, I've gotten an e-mail or two complaining about only having one subject on a decal sheet, as is this one. Well, there are two ways of looking at things. One is that the decal maker can provide only unique markings for several planes and leave the modeler to find the rest of the common markings from other sheets or the kit decals. Generally, the kit decals are substandard in comparison with aftermarket sheets and so providing all of the material needed on one sheet is good. Another is that by the time the other sheets for insignia, data decals and such are bought, the cost will be higher unless one is building a squadron of planes and even then the costs may be about right. A third consideration is that by doing only one subject per sheet, it allows the buyer to get exactly what is wanted without having another set of markings that may not be used. Finally, the scheme can be so intensive that there is not room on the sheet for more than one set of markings. This can be countered by those who want only unique markings and prefer a number of options. Some sets do provide multiple markings and all the common stuff by adding extra sheets. This, however usually increases the price substantially and the builder is left in the same quandary.

Truly, this is a situation where one cannot really please everyone and since the number of complaints is vastly outweighed by silence (which generally indicates satisfaction), I think the current trend will continue.
