Though probably made moot by the release of the Tamiya Skyray, this particular sheet has markings for no less than 5 F4D-1s. The sheet is designed for the Airfix kit and so may not fit the Tamiya version. I should also mention that the first three markings on this old sheet are identical to those provided by Tamiya in the kit. All of these are in the Light Gull Grey over White scheme.
First up is a VMF-114 aircraft. Like the Navy, the Marines stood air defense duty to protect major cities near their bases.
VMF-115 has the second Marine air interception squadron provided. Unlike VMF-114, this unit is still around and currently flying Hornets.
Next is the most colorful VF-3 aircraft as flown from NAS North Island. Probably more Skyray models are built in this scheme than any other!
From VF-74 comes this next one. These guys last flew F-14 Tomcats and I do believe they are or soon will be gone.
Finally, from VF-213 comes this rather colorful version with a nice set of checkerboards on the fin.
