This third new 1/72 sheet is for the F-6F Hellcat. The camouflage for the -3s is the tricolor scheme of sea blue, intermediate blue and white. For the -5s, overall gloss sea blue is the scheme to use. Kits of the Hellcat are easy to find. Kits can be found by Hasegawa, Academy, Airfix, Frog, and Heller to name a few that readily come to mind.
First up is a -3 from VF-1 aboard the USS Yorktown during June 1944.
Next is a -5 from VF-17 aboard the USS Hornet in Feb 1945. This one has the geometric pattern on the wing and tail
From VF-51 aboard the USS San Jacinto comes 'Little Joe'. It is quite unusual to see a WWII USN plane with a name on it.
Finally, a -5N from VMF-511 on the USS Block Island in March 1945. The -5N had a radar pod on the right wing so make sure that you get a kit that has this feature.
The sheet provides enough insignia to do all four of the aircraft.
