Wildcat fans should be happy to see these sheets on the F4F. This first one is on the -3 version with fixed wings and flown by a number of America's early Naval aces of WWII. All the planes on this sheet are pre-Midway with the red and white rudder stripes. Camouflage for all aircraft is blue-grey uppers and light grey lowers. There are some famous aces on this sheet so it should be a popular seller.
First up is VF-42's Scott McCuskey from the USS Yorktown
Next is Wilmer Rawie from VF-6 aboard the USS Enterprise
John Thatch from VF-3 aboard the USS Lexington is next
Finally, 'Butch' O'Hare, also from VF-3 aboard the USS Lexington.
The instructions specify Hasegawa kit 00397 as the one for this sheet, however, it and just about any other 1/72 F4F kit out there will have to have some panel lines filled and an extra frame added to the windscreen to make it to F4F-3 specs.
