There have been some recent discussions on the Forum about decals. Some like to have multiple choices of the same airframe, while others like to have single choices of multiple airframes. Wolfpack Decals chooses the latter and I'm thinking that many are quite pleased that they have.
This latest sheet of theirs follows in that vein with five different subjects from 1970 to the present day; all USAF and all markings that have not seen decals before.
First up is the Mildenhall part of the sheet with an EC-135H from the 10th ACCS in 1988. I can recall seeing this plane at their 1989 open house, though I don't recall if it had the 'Silver Dollar' name on it. The sheet includes the proper blue cheatline stripes for those wanting to build one from the AMT kit, though perhaps some additional bits will be needed for total accuracy.
Next is a B-2A 'Spirit of Ohio' that starts off the Ohio portion of the sheet. Testors is the one for this and some of the markings will need to be gleaned from the kit sheet.
For the A-37B of the 757 SOS, it is Hasegawa or Academy that will be supplying the plastic. This USAF Reserve unit moved on to the C-130 soon after the 1975 aircraft shown here.
Next is a TA-7K that was assigned to the 166TFS at Rickenbacker ANGB in 1989. This Ohio Guard unit is now flying tankers. You can thank Hobby Boss for finally providing a kit of this aircraft.
Finally an F-100D from the 162 TFS at Springfield Ohio during 1970. They dropped off the Hun in favor of the A-7 and later the F-16C/D, which they are currently flying (unless the unit has been cut due to force reductions). Several companies make F-100s with most choosing the Italeri/ERTL/AMT version, though Revell and Hasegawa each have kits that will be usable for this one.
As with the previous sheets, these are superbly printed by Fantasy Printshop and without any registration problems. You will find that the carrier film is a bit more than you may be used to, but it is easily trimmed back before use.
If you have not yet treated yourself to some of the best researched decals around, you should.
