Another new sheet from Wolfpak Decals and again, a nice mixture of subjects. There are five of them on this sheet.
First is an F-16C from the 301 FW, a Texas Reserve unit flying from Fort Worth. This particular aircraft participated in the Iraq invasion of 2003.
Next, the A-1E flown by Medal of Honor recipient Bernard Fischer during this 1966 tour with the 1st SOS in Vietnam. The aircraft is in light gull grey uppers with white undersides. Later, these planes were camouflaged in the standard SEA scheme.
The 162nd TFW, Arizona ANG was the A-7D training unit based in Tucson. The ANG flew these planes longer than any regular USAF unit and several of them were painted in experimental schemes from time to time. This one is in a desert scheme of brown and tan.
Next we have a Misty FAC F-100F from the 416 TFS based at Phu Cat in South Vietnam. This aircraft is pretty much standard and in SEA camouflage.
Finally, one of the new USMC KC-130J tankers. From the look of the black tail, this is the commander's plane. These aircraft are replacing the old KC-130F aircraft and will eventually replace the KC-130Ts as well, though the latter planes will go to the reserves instead of the boneyard.
The instruction sheet for this set is the best in the business when it comes to background information and what may be needed to accurately depict the aircraft being modeled. In addition to the actual placement profiles, there are several additional pages of information that include a history of the type, kits and update bits for these schemes, as well as load-out information, and any changes needed to properly model the aircraft in question, assuring you of the most accurate model you can have. A listing of available kits is also included.
As with the previous sheets, these are superbly printed by Fantasy Printshop and without any registration problems. If you have not yet treated yourself to some of the best researched decals around, you should.
