NOTES: |
Another new sheet from Wolfpak Decals and again, a nice mixture of subjects. There are seven on this sheet, most of the USAF subjects.
The first two are B-58 Hustlers, one from each of the Bomb Wings that flew them. From the 43rd Bomb Wing is the 'Pulaski Hustler'. The 305 Bomb Wing offering is 'Greased Lighting'. Both are from the 1963/64 time frame.
Next is an F-105D 'Hanoi Special' from the 357 TFS in 1957.
Moving to something a bit more recent is this F-15E from the 555 TFTS which was then based at Luke AFB in 1992.
The Kfir is a civil aircraft operated by ATAC. This company has been getting involved in a rather large number of military projects that used to be covered by military units. Seems like there are more civilians in the military than soldiers and sailors and airmen. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not.
From 1974 comes this FB-111A 'Apple 1' from the 380 BW during Giant Voice competition of that year.
Finally, an early A-7D from the 310 TFTS at Luke AFB in 1971. This early aircraft has many USN Corsair II features such as probe and drogue refueling and twin 20mm guns. It is suggested that one start with an A-7B kit and go from there.
The instruction sheet for this set is the best in the business when it comes to background information and what may be needed to accurately depict the aircraft being modeled. In addition to the actual placement profiles, there are several additional pages of information that include a history of the type, kits and update bits for these schemes, as well as load-out information, and any changes needed to properly model the aircraft in question, assuring you of the most accurate model you can have. A listing of available kits is also included.
As with the previous sheets, these are superbly printed by Fantasy Printshop and without any registration problems. If you have not yet treated yourself to some of the best researched decals around, you should.
