This is the second of the sheets that Yellow Wings has produced for the Kitty Hawk OS2U Kingfisher. This one  contains markings for three different aircraft, all of them pre-WWII.

First is a proper 'yellow wings' plane from VO-4 in 1940/41. This aircraft was assigned to the USS Maryland and has a black tail section with blue bands.

Next is one in the overall light grey scheme with red and white tail stripes. It was assigned to Inshore Patrol Squadron VS-201 based at Quonset Point in mid 1941.

We then finish up with another yellow wings plane but with a difference. This is also assigned to an Inshore Patrol Squadron based at NAS Sitka in early 1941. It sports the large NAS Sitka markings on the fuselage and has blue, white and red vertical rudder stripes, something we are used to seeing on pre-war USMC planes. in three different camouflage schemes.

The set includes markings for all three planes as well as a sheet that includes float stencil markings. A nice addition are the wing walk areas and the black trim stripes for the yellow wings option. The decals themselves are superbly printed by Microscale and Yellow Wings includes some of the finest instructions in the business. I have darkened the scans so the white bits are easier to see.

So if you are as I and have not yet started on your big Kingfisher, here is a great opportunity.
