Aires Set 4055
1/48 Bf-109K-4

Aires has a reputation for providing fine detail sets that are a combination of resin and steel photo-etched parts. Frankly I would much rather have all the bits be resin as I find the steel photo etch to be very difficult to bend. However, this looks like a really super set.

Designed for the Hasegawa 1/48 Bf-109K-4, it corrects a number of errors in the Hasegawa kit including giving usthe correct housing for the Mk108 30mm cannon carried by the 109K-4. Also included in resin are gunsight, control column, floor/seat and sidewalls. Instrument panel, rudder pedals, armor plate, belts, trim wheel assy and various knobs are offered in etched metal. In acetate are the instruments. From reading other reviews, it seems that there are some circuit breaker panels that are missing from the set that are in the actual aircraft, but the detail looks crisp and better than the kit offerings. Looks like a winner to me.
