Eduard Brass Detail Set for the Fujimi 1/48 TA-4F

One kit that the modeling community has been asking for years has been a state of the art TA-4J in 1/48.  As I write this, there is hope that Hobbycraft will be able to meet that need, but for now, the only dedicated TA-4 kit in 1/48 is a rather old one from Fujimi.

While the shape looks reasonable, the kit suffers from a terrible interior and general lack of detail (which isn't unreasonable in a near 30 year old kit). Eduard to the rescue.  This set consists of over 50 brass parts that enhance all sections of the kit.  There are new seats, a new cockpit, enhancements for the canopy, engine nose gear, main gear, wheel wells, wheels, and air brakes.  Most of these are simple replacements, but the air brakes will require some major surgery to remove the ones molded closed on the kit.

A highly desirable set for those who want to build a more accurate TA-4 Skyhawk in 1/48.
