NOTES: | For the Italeri 1/72 kit |
Next in the latest line of Pavla upgrade pieces is a complete cockpit set for the recently issued Italeri 1/72 Sunderland. This set is more than just the cockpit as it includes the radio operator and navigator's positions, including the lower level. Many of the main bulkhead and the upper deck floor have detail on both sides of the part, making it quite comprehensive.
Now this is not a total replacement for the Italeri cockpit as you need some of the plastic and photo etch parts that come in the kit to use this set. The set comes with full instructions on what is needed and where all the various bits go. It has the two front seats as well as the seats for the navigator and radio operator. Control and trim wheels are in the set as are rudder pedals. Radio racks and trays are also included as is a new cockpit transparency. The multitude of tiny throttle and mixture controls are provided and it is a good thing that they provided spares as two of the small frets of four are almost devoid of these tiny pieces, an issue when you have small parts jostling together in a bag.
The instructions also includes full painting information. The parts are very nicely molded and while you will not be able to see everything once the fuselage halves are closed, it is nice to know they are in there.
