This Scale Aircraft Conversions set is for the new Kitty Hawk 1/48 F9F Cougar. Though only the two seat version has been released, I know there will be others. This set is an update set as the kit provides a nose gear that is too short, being modeled fully compressed. The Cougar generally sat tail low so the nose gear would normally be extended quite a bit more. That has been molded in this set. Not only that, but the wheel fork piece is also molded in place instead of being separate. The set also includes both main gear legs and their retraction struts. One of the two nose gear well brace thingies is also included though I'm not exactly sure why. A separate nose gear oleo scissor is also in the set which is great as the one molded onto the plastic one easily breaks when removing it from the sprue. This set is a direct replacement for the kit parts, and is nicely molded.
