This next new Scale Aircraft Conversions set is for the Minicraft 1/144 PBY-5A Catalina. This set includes not only a nose gear with wheel, but also the rather complex main landing gear with all of its various struts. A real bonus is a new nose interior section that includes a nose well. This large cast piece should be enough to provide the weight that is needed to help keep the model from tail-sitting, a real issue with the Catalina in any scale.

The parts are quite well cast and all one needs to do is clean up the mold seams, paint things and install them in place as they are direct replacements for the kit parts. It is not uncommon for cast metal bits to be a bit bent but some careful straightening out will bring them into line once again.
